Head Over Heels for Matcha

If you’ve been hanging out with us for a while, you know our love for matcha runs deep. This isn’t just any green tea – it’s a powerhouse of antioxidants that work like tiny warriors protecting your skin from oxidative stress and supporting a healthy gut. Since matcha is made by grinding whole tea leaves into a vibrant green powder, you’re getting every bit of goodness nature has to offer.

A Matcha Made in Heaven: The Power of L-Theanine

Matcha isn’t just about antioxidants – it also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes calm focus and relaxation. Unlike coffee, which can send your energy on a rollercoaster of spikes and crashes, matcha provides a steady, balanced boost without the jitters.

In The Clear Skin Solution, many of our clients love their daily coffee, but they often find that too much caffeine can lead to anxiety, overstimulation, and even spikes in cortisol and blood sugar. Since these stress responses can directly impact skin health, we recommend starting with small shifts to help calm the nervous system – and swapping coffee for matcha is an easy, effective step.

Your Skin’s New BFF: The Power of Matcha

If you’re looking for a way to upgrade your skincare routine from the inside out, matcha might just be your new BFF. This vibrant green tea isn’t just a trendy coffee alternative—it’s loaded with skin-loving nutrients that can help fight breakouts, boost collagen, and protect against premature aging.

Fights Free Radicals & Slows Aging

Matcha is packed with EGCG, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your skin from free radical damage, which speeds up aging. By neutralizing these harmful molecules, matcha helps maintain collagen levels, preventing fine lines, wrinkles, and dullness while defending against environmental stressors like UV rays and pollution.

Supports a Clear Complexion

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, matcha helps calm redness, reduce puffiness, and fight acne-causing bacteria. It also helps regulate sebum production, making it a great option for those dealing with oily or breakout-prone skin. Plus, it provides steady energy without spiking cortisol like coffee, which can be beneficial for those with hormone-related acne.

Boosts Collagen & Skin Elasticity

Matcha supports collagen synthesis, helping keep skin firm and youthful. Pairing it with vitamin C-rich foods like strawberries enhances its collagen-boosting effects while improving antioxidant absorption. Whether blended into a smoothie or enjoyed as a matcha latte, this duo helps promote skin repair and elasticity.

Detoxifies & Brightens

The chlorophyll in matcha is a natural detoxifier that helps flush out toxins contributing to breakouts and dull skin. It also supports better circulation, which can enhance your skin’s natural glow. If your complexion needs a refresh, adding matcha to your routine can help brighten and revitalize from within.

Nature’s Perfect Valentine

Sweet Strawberries: Fresh strawberries aren’t just romantic – they’re packed with vitamin C, essential for collagen production and skin repair. These heart-shaped berries provide antioxidants that work alongside matcha’s protective compounds, creating a treat that’s beautiful inside and out.

Creamy Coconut Butter: Instead of conventional white chocolate (typically loaded with refined sugar and dairy), we’re using coconut butter as our creamy base. Rich in MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides), coconut butter offers healthy fats that support both brain and skin health, while creating that satisfying melt-in-your-mouth experience.

Matcha Covered Strawberries

Move over, chocolate—Matcha Covered Strawberries are the new Valentine’s treat your skin will absolutely love!

Ingredients

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries (washed and thoroughly dried)
  • 1/2 cup coconut butter
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp matcha powder (1-2 tsp)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

Prepare the strawberries and dip

  • Ensure the strawberries are completely dry to help the coating adhere properly.
  • In a double boiler on low heat, combine the coconut butter, maple syrup, matcha powder, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  • Stir continuously until smooth and evenly coloured. Do not overheat.

Dip the strawberries

  • Hold each strawberry by the stem or use a toothpick. Dip it into the matcha mixture, turning to coat evenly.
  • Let excess coating drip off before placing the strawberry on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Place the coated strawberries in the refrigerator for about 15–20 minutes, or until the coating firms up.
  • Enjoy the strawberries fresh or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days
