Pomegranate Ginger Kombucha Mocktail
By Katie Stewart · December 30, 2021 · 1 min read

I don’t drink alcohol very often but still like to have a festive drink in hand. And I like to keep things super simple so I’m not carting around 65 ingredients to make myself a mocktail.
My Pomegranate Ginger Kombucha Mocktail is only two ingredients. Juice and kombucha. The garnishes are totally optional.
I like the combo of these two because you get a little sweetness from the juice with great carbonation from the kombucha.
Kombucha 101
Kombucha is a fermented drink made with black tea and a sugar source (most often cane sugar). There is another variation made with honey called Jun. Kombucha contains beneficial bacteria and yeast making it a probiotic-rich beverage.
After it’s been fermented, the kombucha becomes carbonated and is host to probiotics, enzymes, B vitamins and vinegar.
Kombucha has a number of health benefits including improving gut health, antibacterial properties and antioxidant support. The powerful antioxidants found in kombucha can help detoxify the liver and combat oxidative stress that leads to disease and aging.
