The secret to my clear skin? It’s actually not a product, lotion, or potion. It’s my diet. I make sure to focus on an anti-inflammatory diet filled with high-quality proteins, colourful fruits and vegetables, healthy fats and filtered water. By doing so, I’m providing my body with the best tools to get glowing and radiant skin. This is something I teach my clients in The Clear Skin Solution.
Because NO fancy product will change what a healthy diet can. With that said…I’m still a BIG skin care fan. Nothing gets me more excited than putting on my favourite serum or trying a new face mask.
Seriously, who doesn’t love a little skin pampering, amiright?
Over the years, I’ve tried hundreds of different natural products and probably spent thousands doing it. Luckily, I’ve found a pretty solid routine with products that boost the health and look of my skin. Yes, diet is the foundation but the right product on top of that can make your skin radiant.

Have you ever read the ingredients on the back of your personal care products?
Have you read it and have no idea what those ingredients are?
Do you know if those ingredients are toxic or not?
Well, you need to care and you need to know.
Your skin is not a catch-all barrier. Everything you apply topically seeps into your body and bloodstream.
Fun fact? Premarket safety testing is not required for any of the personal care products you buy. Testing is only carried out AFTER a complaint is made.
And to just add another mind-blowing tidbit to the mix…
In 1976 the Toxic Substances Control Act was created and grandfathered-in thousands of chemicals aka approving them for use with zero safety testing. According to the Environmental Working Group,
“Nearly 80 percent of the 12,500 ingredients FDA has determined are used in personal care products have not been evaluated for safety by the CIR, the FDA, or any other publicly accountable institution. Personal care products contain carcinogens, pesticides, reproductive toxins, endocrine disruptors, plasticizers, degreasers, and surfactants.”
So how do you know if your products are safe?
The EWG’s Skin Deep Database is your new best friend. You can search for your product to see its overall toxicity rating and then the individual ingredient toxicity. If your product isn’t in the database yet, you can easily and quickly add your own product.
While I may switch up a serum or moisturizer depending on the season, this is the core routine I use every single day. To purchase any of the essential oils I use, click here to do so.

*Citrus oils are considered photosensitive. After topical application of any citrus oils, avoid direct sun exposure for 12 hours.
**When applied neat (undiluted), I find it’s a bit too strong for my skin. Instead, I pour half the roller bottle into an empty roller and top each with fractionated coconut oil. That way I have two for the price of one that is diluted down and still works incredibly well.
