Chocolate Quinoa Porridge with Nut Butter & Banana
My Chocolate Quinoa Porridge is the fastest breakfast ever. Since it’s made with quinoa flakes, you’ll be enjoying this hearty breakfast in under 5 minutes. Quinoa flakes are essentially just pressed quinoa, which take no time at all to cook up. There are so many combinations of tasty additions you can enjoy with the quinoa porridge. My favourite is a cacao, nut butter and banana combo.
Cacao is the healthier alternative to cocoa powder. Essentially, cacao is raw, unprocessed chocolate that’s made by cold-pressing unroasted cocoa beans. Cold-pressing the beans preserve its nutritional content. In contrast, cocoa powder is full of sugar and has been heavily processed with the majority of it’s health benefits destroy.
Plant Fuel
I love fuelling my body with this quinoa porridge because it provides some incredible plant-based protein. Just one serving provides your body with 4.3 grams of protein and about 2.5 grams of fibre. Quinoa is also an excellent source of manganese. Not to be confused with magnesium, manganese is a trace mineral that plays a role in bone production, skin health, and protection against free-radicals.
