The Tastiest Secret Sauce

This is my secret ingredient to make anything taste even better! It comes together in under 5 minutes flat and is incredible as either a dip or spread. We LOVE having it with our Crispy Baked Sweet Potato Fries and Almond Crusted Paleo Chicken Balls.

The Truth About Mayo

Alright. Let’s just say it. The popular store-bought mayonnaise that seems to pop up at every potluck or summer BBQ is 100% a health hazard. The majority of the ingredients are genetically modified organisms (GMOs) which have a different nutritional makeup and higher potential to cause an allergic reaction. GMOs also increase the use of hazardous chemicals like the cancer-causing, glyphosphate (aka Roundup). Ingredients like poor quality refined oils, white vinegar, and white sugar make up the popular store-bought mayos. They even contain calcium disodium EDTA, which may cause asthma attacks, skin rash, and possibly kidney damage.

So can we all agree to put the mayo down and opt for a healthier alternative? I’ve never been a fan of mayonnaise myself, but I love vegan mayo. My favourite one to use is Vegenaise Grapeseed Oil.   Soy-free and is made with grapeseed oil, it’s one of the few natural foods that raise good cholesterol.

And guess what? It tastes better than mayo! Plus, it serves as the perfect base to aiolis, sauces, and dips.

Cooking with Essential Oils

You’ll notice I use essential oils in a lot of my recipes. I love the potent and pure flavour they give to any dish. Rosemary is definitely my favourite essential oil to cook with. Keep in mind 1 drop of essential oil equals about 2 teaspoons of dried herb.

It’s important to note that not all essential oil brands are created equally. Only use essential oils that labelled safe for internal use. I only use doTERRA’s CPTG oils in my recipes and home. Learn more here.

Super delicious dip or spread made with vegan mayo and organic mustard. Naturally flavoured with rosemary essential oil.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy-free vegan mayo
  • 1 tbsp organic yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 drop rosemary essential oil sub 2 tsp. dried herb
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Pink rock or grey sea salt to taste

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Use as a dip or spread.

Notes

Will keep for about 10 days in the fridge.
